Weandnbsp are currently seeking an experiencedandnbsp Unix System Administratorandnbsp to join a well established and reputable IT Services Provider in PerthPosition Brief andnbsp - As a Unix System Administrator, you would be responsible for the administration of Unix based Solaris and Linux Servers.
- As part of this role, your position will entail administration, troubleshooting, configuration as well as software and hardware support.
- This includes monitoring the trouble ticket queue, system trouble shooting, hardware and software system changes, Shell Scripting, system performance monitoring, system sizing, system integration, upgrade implementation, and hardware diagnostics.
- You will also be involved with system provisioning, security patching and support related duties.
- Coupled with a strong technical background, an essential component of this role will be the need to have strong externalandnbsp vendor engagement experience to ensure optimum service delivery.
- Excellent client interfacing and engagement skills are an essential component of this position
- Good written and communicational skills are an essential requirement as well asandnbsp a strong team player with the ability to integrate within a vibrant and professional working environment.
To be considered for this role you will need andnbsp - A minimum of andnbsp 3+ years of hands on Solaris10 experience
- Essentially retain experience with SUN Enterprise hardware
- A andnbsp knowledge of networking, TCP, UDP, RPC, NFS, DNS, routing will be advantageous
- ShellorPerl Scripting experience
- A track record ofs upport ing Servers with SAN connected storage
- The a bility to interface with internal and external clients at all levels technical and business
